See they not that they are tried every year once or twice? Yet they turn not in repentance, and they take no heed.
Ali explains that even those who persist in disbelief are still given repeated opportunities each year to reconsider their position and return to the right path. The possibility of repentance and guidance remains open to them. However, despite these opportunities, some individuals deliberately turn away and fail to heed the warnings provided both by their own conscience and by the teachings and examples of righteous people (Ali, 1989).
