And at the Sky, how it is raised high?-
Quran 22:65:
Do you not see that Allah has subjected to you whatever is on the earth and the ships which run
through the sea by His command? And He restrains the sky from falling upon the earth, unless by His
permission. Indeed Allah , to the people, is Kind and Merciful.

The imagery of seafaring as a blessing from God is mentioned in several verses, including 14:32, 17:66, 30:46, 31:31, and 43:12. In this context, where the sea wind is made subservient to human needs, the statement that God maintains the sky (samāʾ) means that the natural order is divinely sustained, enabling such travel (R), and ensuring the sky remains stable enough for ships to sail (Z). It can also be interpreted as a metonym for anything that falls from the sky, such as rain, as referenced in 11:52 and 71:11: “He will send the sky upon you with abundant rains.” The following excerpt from Tafhim ul Quran explains this verse, noting that “the heaven” refers to the entire universe above and below the earth, where everything is held in its rightful place and sphere.
