Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)?
Gashiyah refers to something or an event that overshadows or overwhelms, covering or causing people to lose their senses. In 12:107, it is described as the “covering veil of the Wrath of Allah” (see note 1790). The Day of Judgment is indicated here as the event of overwhelming significance, where all the trivial differences of this imperfect world are overshadowed and overwhelmed by a new world of perfect justice and truth (R).
