And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil,-
In Qur’an verses 76:5-6, and note 5835, the Cup of Kafur (camphor) is mentioned as a symbol of coolness and refreshment for the righteous, who have just passed through the great event of Judgment. The second stage, described in verses 12-14, depicts their entry into the Garden, where they are dressed in silk garments and rewarded with high honor for their humility during their probationary life. The third stage, detailed in verses 15-21, portrays them settled in bliss, adorned with fine silk and heavy brocades, wearing ornaments and jewels, and enjoying a well-arranged feast with set service and the Cup of Zanjabil. Zanjabil literally refers to ginger, which in Eastern medicine is used to provide warmth to the body and enhance flavor. This is fitting for the royal feast now being described (Ali).
