59:14

59:14

They will not fight you (even) together, except in fortified townships, or from behind walls.

Strong is their fighting (spirit) amongst themselves: thou wouldst think they were united, by their

hearts are divided: that is because they are a people devoid of wisdom.

Although these groups may possess a strong fighting spirit, they lack a unified cause and a common goal to pursue. The Makkah pagans seek to preserve their unjust rule, while the Madinah hypocrites desire their own dominance in Madinah. The Jews, on the other hand, aim to establish racial superiority over the Arabs, whom they envy for their growing unity and strength. Their apparent alliance, however, was inherently unstable and could not withstand the pressure of either defeat or victory. Had these groups been wise, they would have embraced the Cause of unity, faith, and truth (Ali, n.d.).
