5:23
(But) among (their) Allah-fearing men were two on whom Allah had bestowed His grace: They said: “Assault them at the (proper) Gate: when once ye are in, victory will be yours; But on Allah put your trust if ye have faith.”
Among the group that returned after exploring the land were two individuals who demonstrated faith and determination: Joshua and Caleb. Unlike the other scouts, they encouraged the Israelites to proceed confidently and enter the land without delay. According to the narrative, Joshua later succeeded Moses as the leader of the Israelites after a period of forty years. These two men urged the people to enter the land through its proper gate, which may be understood as a call to advance with careful preparation and appropriate precautions. At the same time, they emphasized that ultimate success depended on placing trust in God for victory.
