Thus did We restore him to his mother, that her eye might be comforted, that she might not grieve, and

that she might know that the promise of Allah is true: but most of them do not understand.

28:14

When he reached full age, and was firmly established (in life), We bestowed on him wisdom and

knowledge: for thus do We reward those who do good.

The expression “full age” is commonly interpreted to refer to the stage of mature adulthood, generally understood as occurring between approximately eighteen and thirty years of age. At this stage, an individual’s physical development is complete, and mental and moral character has largely taken shape. In the case of Moses, his character is portrayed as upright and sincere, demonstrating loyalty to his people and fairness toward those among whom he lived. Because of these qualities, he was granted wisdom and knowledge from God, preparing him for the challenges and responsibilities that would later confront him. Once his internal moral and intellectual development had reached maturity, he entered the wider sphere of public life, where he continued to face tests and trials that ultimately prepared him to receive his divine mission.
