And before Solomon were marshalled his hosts,- of Jinns and men and birds, and they were all kept in order and ranks
In addition to its literal meaning, the passage may also be understood symbolically in two ways. First, it suggests that the ruler maintained harmony among his subjects, who differed in levels of intelligence, cultural refinement, and social standing, through the exercise of discipline, justice, and effective governance. Second, it implies that the various talents and abilities granted to him were organized and utilized in a coordinated manner, much like a well-disciplined army. By arranging these diverse gifts with order and purpose, he was able to achieve the most effective outcomes from them.
