“Or created matter which, in your minds, is hardest (to be raised up),- (Yet shall ye be raised up)!” then will they say: “Who will cause us to return?” Say: “He who created you first!” Then will they wag their heads towards thee, and say, “When will that be?” Say, “May be it will be quite soon!
Yusuf Ali explains that some people fail to recognize that the same God who created them initially from nothing possesses the power to recreate them again, restoring even the memories of their previous lives so that they may be held accountable for how they used or misused the abilities and opportunities granted to them. Even if the human body is reduced to bones, dust, ashes, or transformed into substances such as stone or iron—things that appear entirely different from the human form—this does not limit divine power. For God, no form of re-creation is impossible. Since God has conveyed through revelation that human beings will ultimately be called to account for their actions, this message must necessarily be true (Ali, n.d.).
